Fusion through Layering

Last night, Pamela created a fun workshop for us on the topic of fiber art layering. Here are some of the pieces we created:

New member, Linda, brought along some of her gorgeous work. She loves to thread paint.

Silk quilt - a group effort by Silk Painters of Atlanta (SPA). Diane did the quilting.

Thanks to Elizabeth for a colorful and fun workshop on painting thread. 

Elizabeth brought neutral light-colored skeins of embroidery floss and a variety of inks and paints.

Artists' Post Cards by Lynn

At left, you can see an example of a stamped back to one of Lynn's sample post cards. Below you see her demonstrating the sorts of pieces that can be used to create colorful artful post cards. Thanks, Lynn, for an inspiring presentation and workshop. It is possible to create fiber art (almost) every day!

A number of Kathy's pieces were inspired by her study-abroad in China. Congratulations on completion of your degree, Kathy. And, congratulations on your work to be showing at Bernau University, starting July 17 through September.

SEFAA's Square Foot Fiber Art Pin-Up Show is now available for viewing at SEFAA. It will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 2 pm through May 16th. Don't miss it - several artists from SEFAA have pieces on display.

And I am pleased to announce that Beth (Adrian) Berghoff has won the FAF ribbon for best fusion of fiber in art. Congratulations, Beth. Gorgeous piece!
